Description:

Bayelsa State is a coastal state situated in southern Nigeria. It is in the Niger Delta region and is one of the main oil producing states in Nigeria. The main ethnic tribe and language is Ijaw with several other dialects. Religions in the State are Christianity and Traditional worship.


A major part of Bayelsa State is surrounded by water and this poses challenges with accessibility. The capital of Bayelsa State, Yenogoa, is still developing and mainly rural at the moment.
