Ekiti State is situated in the south western part of Nigeria and the indigenes of the state are predominantly Yoruba.


Agriculture is the mainstay of the Ekiti State and it is one of the largest producers of rice, kolanut, oil palm and cocoa in the country. Other crops grown in Ekiti state include cassava, yam, cocoyam, maize, cowpea, citrus, plantain, cashew nuts, mangoes and oranges.

Mineral resources in Ekiti State include clay, kaolin, columbite, cassiterite, foundry sand, bauxite, clarcomite and charcoalnite granite.
