Visa/Passport requirements
Most citizens of other countries are required to get a visa to travel to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This includes British, American, Australian and other EU country citizens.
However, nationals of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) who are staying in Nigeria for a period of three months or less are exempt from obtaining an entry visa.
You must also hold a valid passport which is valid for at least six months after the date of departure.
Nigerian Tourist visas are granted to applicants wishing to visit Nigeria for tourism or to visit friends or relatives and are issued with a validity of three months.
Nigerian Business visas are for applicants wishing to travel for business purposes including attending meetings and conferences. A letter of invitation from a company based in Nigeria is usually required. This visa is valid for a period of 90 days and can be extended if required.
The average processing time for a Nigerian visa is three to five working days.
