Chocolate Boy Wonder becomes Jack of All Trades

Anyone into the modern Nigerian music scene, will be interested to hear that one of the nations most promising young talents is putting in appearances in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt to share the release of his debut album “Jag of All Tradez”.

According to Juizemag.com, Jesse Jagz (Jesse Abaga) has been described as Nigeria’s Kanye West because of his flirtatious experimentation with different genres of music from R&B to roots reggae to Pop all built on a predominantly Hip Hop foundation.

“Taraba by tribe, bred in J town, holdin it down in Abuja and taking over Lagos”, is Jesse’s description of himself.

He originally hails from Taraba State and grew up in Jos (capital of Plateau State) which he refers to as J-Town. He grew up listening to music and started composing at an early age influenced by his upbringing in the church.

Jesse Jagz is a Producer, Rapper and song writer. He has produced for some of the biggest names in the Nigerian Music industry including: MI (a.k.a., Jude Abaga, who is his older brother), Shank, Faze, Djinee, Eve, Majek Fashek, Ice Prince,Mode 9,Sasha, Kel, Dekunle Fuji and a host of others.

He was also winning Producer for Hennessy Artistry Nigeria 2009 and a member of the successful group “Choc Boiz” which comprises of MI, Ice Prince and Jesse Jagz. He is currently with the record label Chocolate City.

Hits like Wetin Dey and Pump It up are currently topping radio and club charts in Nigeria and beyond.

Some of this talented young man’s awards include the Producer of the Year – The Future Awards 2010, Best Rap Single 2008-Splurge Magazine, Producer of the Year – Cool FM Abuja.

Jesse will be putting on a show of his latest album across Nigeria with performances scheduled in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

His tour kicks off in Lagos, where he will perform on 13th March 2010 from 7pm at the Tribeca in Victoria Island. He will be in Abuja on the 27th of March and in Port Harcourt on the 4th of April.
