Nigerian Students interested in studying in the UK could be eligible for scholarship offers at the Education UK Exhibition taking place next week.
The British Council Education exhibition gives potential students an opportunity to talk to representatives from over 60 British universities and recognised institutions of further and higher education in the UK.
The first Exhibition was held in November 2003 over 25 UK Institutions were represented. The exhibition has since grown steadily each year. This year’s exhibition takes place in Abuja from 22nd to 23rd February and in Lagos from 25th to 26th February.
The Lagos Venue is the Expo Centre of the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island and will take place from 10 am to 4.30 pm on both days. The Abuja is the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Maitama also from 10 am to 4.30 pm on both days.
The exhibition will bring representatives from UK education providers to meet face to face with prospective international students in Nigeria. It is also an opportunity for attendees exploring opportunities for study in the UK to get first-hand information from the exhibitors.
There will also be seminars on 'Living and Studying in the UK' and 'UK Visa sessions'.
There are numerous scholarships available and lots of information to help those interested in taking the first steps to an internationally-recognised qualification.
For students looking for financial assistance or help with funding their studies, the British Council have a wide range of options. Interested parties can search the British Council’s Scholarship database.

On entry to the Exhibition, attendees are advised to pick up a copy of the new Scholarship Bulletin which contains information on over 120 different scholarship opportunities available from the participating institutions.
There will also be a competition for the British Council's new scholarship programme, Innovation 3600, in which competitors get an opportunity to win funded study in the UK. Last year six people emerged winner with prizes of fully funded postgraduate scholarships to study in the UK. Information on this programme and the competition will be available at the British Council’s information desk.
